Athletics
Physical health is important to successful academic achievement. We believe that students need frequent and varied opportunities to develop habits of physical fitness. We offer a variety of recreational and interscholastic athletic opportunities which are fun, challenging and promote physical well-being.

We are a member of the the Penobscot Valley Conference for athletics, and we compete in the MSSPA (Maine Secondary School Principal’s Association) Classes C or D (depending on the sport) for post-season tournaments and race meets.

Our school mascot is the Panda, a large, agile beast, native to East Asia. Although companionable outside of competitive arenas, Pandas are proud, aggressive, hardworking, and inspired as athletic teams! The first Panda mascot was designed in the 1940’s by student Chuck Boutot. Our current “Panda” was designed in the mid 1990’s by student Rick Doane.
