What sits open before you is a collection of the artistic and written work from the student body of Lee Academy. A general housing of creative thought and ability.
For those who are new to this site (or publication) I will begin with a short explanation. At the top are words linked to their corresponding sections; if you click on poetry you will find a page with titles and links to all of this years published poems, prose leads to prose, etc. All titles or thumbnails are linked to student work. For those who want a more linear viewing, at the bottom of each page is a previous/next button that can be used to leaf through the entire site.
Also for those new to this site, and unaware of the history- Entropy was started in paper form in the early 90's by a creative group of students who wished to collect their work. The name 'entropy' is synonymous with chaos, and so fits together with creativity quite nicely. It always tried to capture both sides of the artistic coin (writing and art) and over the years has grown. In the modern age that coin had to add sides, as multimedia sources became more widespread, and so Entropy (like the rest of the world) migrated to the web.
Our Creative Writing class serves as the home base for the magazine and the creative writing students (or Entropeons as I affectionately call them) extend sticky fingers all over the school. Gathering Art and media from both inside and outside class. The students in the class have pleasantly surprised each other at many points this year with their wit, language, and aesthetic beauty, and they have been excited by some gems from outside our own confines. I am happy to help them share the best of their work with a larger audience.
We wish to give a special thanks to Mrs. Emily Rideout who has inspired and directed much of this work. Her addition of a digital photography class is evident in the superb quality of this year's photography section.
We wish that you enjoy the magazine and encourage our viewers to join the ranks and submit their own creative work. We are constantly taking submissions and seeking to add to these pages.
Sincerely,
Y.C.E.T.
