Welcome Readers

LA seal

What sits open before you is a collection of the artistic and written work from the student body of Lee Academy. A sort of omnibus of expressive and abstrace acumen. .

For those who are new to this site (or publication) I will begin with a short explanation. The namesake comes from a scientific measure of the amount of disorder in a system... especially a closed one. For us, we look at our name as suggesting that art is more likely in a country setting like ours... and in this we see an obligation to collect and save it.

Our Creative Writing class serves as the home base for the magazine and the creative writing students (or Entropeons as I affectionately call them) extend sticky fingers all over the school.  The students in the class have pleasantly surprised each other at many points this year with their wit, language, and aesthetic beauty, and they have been excited by some gems from outside our own confines. I am happy to help them share the best of their work with a larger audience.

As always, the art came primarily from our art classes, and owe a huge kudos to Mrs. Rideout (she seems to bring out the best in people and has again guided her students toward some incredible creations).

This year we have tried to keep the omnibus in subtle and attractive format. Our hope is that it is easy to view and explore. Readers may choose pieces individually or simply select the next button at the bottom of the page to move through the magazine linearly. We hope the experience is, in every way, enjoyable.

Sincerely,

Matthew Rich
