Library and Media Center

Computers and Information
The Lee Academy library has gone through some tremendous changes over the past few years. Housing a collection of over 8000 books, from the Shakespearean classics to the latest Stephen King novel, the library also holds 16 computers with all the accessibility to the ever progressing technological world, including the world wide web, Google Earth, word processors, media players, and calculators.
With search engines quickly becoming the standard way to conduct research, and the new surge for a universal online library (millions of books are currently being scanned into a database through the cooperation of universities and companies such as Google and Yahoo), the future is bright for technology based research centers, and Lee Academy is keeping up to date with these changes.

Location
The library and school campus are conveniently located less than an hour from The Fogler Library at UMaine, the flagship campus of the University system. Fogler is the largest research library in Maine, and it offers a wealth of services (Internet, URSUS, microfiche, abundant bound periodicals and books, special collections and antique holdings of archival importance) to student researchers. The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service offers a statewide exchange program for various media and textual content.
Donations, Gifts of Time, Books and Funds
Lee Academy’s Augusta Tolman Curtis Memorial Library continues to appreciate donations of gently used books from alumni and friends. If you are interested in helping the library with a gift of time, books, or money, please contact Headmaster Bruce Lindberg.
