Lee Academy Announces 2010 International Student Summer Program
By Office of Institutional Advancement
Lee, Maine ~ Lee Academy is pleased to announce it's second International Student Summer Program. The program will run in two 10-day intervals beginning July 19th. Participants may take part in the first week, the second week (August 2-13), or both.
The program will provide international students the chance to spend part of their summer in the beautiful Maine outdoors, and become fluent in English at the same time. Students will stay on campus in one of Lee Academy's 5 student dormitories.
Morning sessions will consist of classroom ESL (English as a second language) courses from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
Following lunch in LA's converted hunting-lodge-turned-dining hall, students will spend their afternoons taking part in a variety of outdoor activities all-the-while concentrating on conversational English. Planned activities include exploring the Maine coast, mountains, woods, rivers and/or lakes by foot or by canoe and kayak. Students can spot majestic moose at Baxter State Park or climb world famous Mt. Katahdin. There will also be ample opportunities for shopping trips and movie excursions to nearby Bangor, plus swimming, canoeing, cookouts, soccer, softball, volleyball, and more.
Choose one two-week program or both: July 19 - 30 and/or August 2 - 13. $850.00/wk. For more information contact Deborah Jacobs at (207) 738-2252 ext. 115, or e-mail her HERE.
