He then became the Head Coach for the class of 2021 New Haven Heat Basketball Family team (not only a coach but one of the top recruiters for the program) and was a part of four Connecticut AAU State Championships with the New Haven Heat. In addition, during the summer breaks, Coach Doc gave back to his old high school and coached the Hamden High Varsity summer league team for four years. In both programs he helped with personal skills development with players.

Coach Doc graduated from Hamden High School in 2013. He was a basketball standout, starting out as a point guard and playing varsity for all four years. He was chosen as a senior captain for the Dragons, in addition to other honors including being named to the All Southern Connecticut Conference his senior year and being named a member of the New Haven Tap-Off Club All Area Team.
