Lee Academy is a local town academy that was founded in 1845. Located in rural Lee, Maine within an hour of world renowned mountain hiking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hunting, and outdoor adventure. Lee Academy's curriculum is dedicated to educating the whole human through Understanding by Design and Place-Based education. If you are looking for a place to educate students through the lens of Lee's forests, rivers, lakes, and ecosystem than this may be the place for you. Lee Academy serves around 150 students from Aroostook, Washington, Penobscot counties and dozens of international countries.

  • High School Foreign Language Teacher

    High School Foreign Language: grades 9-12
    Lee Academy has a need for a high school teacher to teach French (I and II) and/or Spanish (I and II) courses.  Applicants should have a knowledge of Common Core standards, Place-Based education, and Understanding by Design.  The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic, and student focused.  This position requires work in an environment composed of both domestic and international students representing many cultures, languages and prior experiences.  Preference given to teachers who have high school teaching experience in World Languages or holding a current teaching certificate.
    Finalist should be certified or can obtain the needed certification, and must pass the State of Maine background check.  Lee Academy offers competitive salary and benefits.

    Mathematics Teacher: grades 9-12
    Lee Academy is anticipating the need for a Mathematics teacher to teach Math courses beginning in the fall 2021 semester.  Applicants should have a knowledge of Common Core standards, Place-Based education, and Understanding by Design.  The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic, and student focused.  This position requires work in an environment composed of both domestic and international students representing many cultures, languages and prior experiences.  Preference given to teachers who are holding a current teaching certificate.
